Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Florida Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez returned to the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Cubs after being relegated to the bench for four games with a bruised right wrist. On Monday, Mets starting pitcher John Maine hit Ramirez on the wrist with a fastball in the first inning. Ramirez was in obvious pain as he went to his knees favoring his wrist and was then replaced by pinch-runner Ross Gload. X-rays were negative and he was listed as day-to-day.

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Washington Nationals acquired right- hander Logan Kensing from the Florida Marlins on Wednesday. In exchange, the Nationals sent pitching prospect Kyle Gunderson to Florida. The 26-year-old Kensing is 7-8 with a 5.21 earned-run average over 108 appearances in five seasons with the Marlins. The 24-year-old Gunderson, chosen in the 48th round of the 2007 draft, was 2-0 with a 2.84 ERA in five relief appearances for Single-A Potomac this season.
